about

This multi-media project was inspired by the Tuku Iho collection of paintings by Robin Slow and the associated exhibition of Taonga Pūoro by Brian Flintoff. The paintings tell many stories of the past and weave in images of Taonga Pūoro.

The music by Bob Bickerton features many Taonga Pūoro made by Brian Flintoff and is a single track in nine movements. Each movement was inspired by a painting from the collection.

The catalogue, which is available for download at Bob's website, contains images of Robin’s paintings including explanations of each painting’s tikanga, as well as notes on the music relating to that painting. It also contains photographs and notes on some of the Taonga Pūoro displayed in the exhibition.
